Equines Assisting Special Individuals (EASI) provides safe and effective therapeutic riding for people with disabilities or special needs in Walker County and surrounding areas. Currently, EASI is one of five Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH International) Premiere Accredited Centers in Alabama. PATH International, formerly NARHA, was formed in 1969 and exists to promote equine activities for individuals with disabilities. PATH International promotes therapeutic riding primarily through public awareness campaigns and educational events. Most importantly, PATH International is concerned with safety and service to members and riders. Our instructors are PATH International certified and our center adheres to their safety standards and policies to maintain accreditation. EASI, a 501(c)(3) organization, depends on contributions and private donations from the community for funding and relies heavily on volunteers. Our volunteers dedicated over 900 hours of service over the 2011 summer alone. We are always in need of Volunteers and urge you to see how you can help!
