Holiday Volunteer Opportunities 

Angel Tree Distribution- Salvation Army
Sign up to help Salvation Army this Holiday Season for the Angel Tree Distribution. Volunteers will do any number of things from assisting with parking, retrieving family's gift bags, carrying bags out to the families, helping them load bags into the car, etc. This opportunity will take place on December 20th. Volunteers should not be under the age 15. 

Community Kitchens
Serve lunch to those in need this holiday season by volunteering at Community Kitchens. Volunteers are needed at both locations on December 26th, December 31st, January 1st and January 2nd from 10:00-2:00 pm. Holidays For Heroes- Red Cross
Nothing says the Holidays like a homemade Holiday Card. Gather your friends and family to make DIY holiday cards for Veterans and Men and Women of Service. Cards can be dropped off at Red Cross by December 9th

Community Food Bank of Central Alabama
Volunteers are needed to inspect and sort food donations. To register for this opportunity or for more information please click here 

Holiday Kits 
All kits can be dropped off at the United Way of Central Alabama. To schedule a drop-off time call 205.251.5849

Priority Veteran Care Kits
Help by providing care kits for our Veterans this Holiday Season. All kits will be donated to Veterans served through the United Way of Central Alabama. 

Senior Care Kits
It's the little things that can brighten someones day! Provide a comfort kit for a senior in need. 

Teacher Supply Kits
It's important to remember our Teachers this Holiday Season! The kits collected will be distributed to teachers by United Way of Central Alabama's Success By Six program. 

Pre-K Kits
Having school supplies for school is an imperative part of kids learning. School supplies kits will be distributed to schools affiliated with United Way of Central Alabama's Success By Six Program.

Homeless Care Kits
Provide the homeless with the necessities they need by donating a care kit. All kits will be distributed during Project Homeless Connect 2017.

Holiday Drives and Donations 

Meals On Wheels
We want everyone to enjoy a delicious holiday meal. A cash donation of $15 provides three holiday meals delivered to homebound seniors. To donate to this program please visit www.uwca.org/help​ by December 20th. 

Salvation Army Angel Tree
Visit Brookwood Mall on December 3rd to adopt an angel tree participant. For more information call Salvation Army at 205.328.2420

Salvation Army-Forgotten Angel
Salvation Army is asking for generic gifts for a girl or boy not registered for Angel Tree. Drop off at any local Chick Fil A on December 14th. 

Holiday Shop Drive 
Help the families of Eastlake by donating Christmas gifts! This is a great project to engage the whole family. All donated items will be used at the Holiday Shop as part of the Eastlake Initiatve. Proceeds from this project will be used for educational needs at Barrett Elementary and Osie Ware School. Items should be dropped off by noon on December 5th. Family Connection Drive 
Family Connection is collecting canned goods, snacks, personal care items, clothes, blankets, jackets and shoes. To get more information contact 205.663.6301 Ext. 208

The Day Program Drive
The Day Program is collecting school supplies such as, paper, pencils, kleenex, batteries, tape, staplers, etc. They are also in need of bookcases and 3-4 filing cabinets. Items can be dropped off at 117 Plaza Circle, Alabaster, AL. For more information call 205.664.1602

AIDS Alabama
AIDS Alabama is collecting donations for their Holiday Wish gifts for children under 16 living in their housing programs. They are accepting cash donations where they will handle the shopping, or they can pair you with a client and you can do the shopping. This opportunity will expire on December 5th. United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Drive
UCP is collecting supplies and clothing this Holiday Season. For a list of donation items please click the above link. They also have opportunities for donors to adopt an entire family and purchase specific items they request. Contact Lee Thrash at lthrash@ucpbham.org or 205.944.3909 for more information on adopting a family. ALL new unwrapped items can be dropped off at 100 Oslo Circle, Birmingham, AL by December 9th.  

Christian Service Mission (CSM) Drive

Christian Service Mission is collecting non perishable holiday foods such as, canned green beans, yams, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing, muffin mix, mac and cheese and coffee. Items should be dropped off at Boutwell Auditorium between 8:00-5:00 pm on November 22nd and 23rd. Items can also be dropped off at CSM November 28th- December 23rd from 8:00-5:00 pm. 

Project Christmas- Shelby Emergency Assistance
Shelby Emergency Assistance is accepting donations for their Project Christmas Program. They are asking for, new toys for children ages 1-12, giftcards for childrens and teens clothing and Christmas stocking stuffers for all ages. They are also accepting baskets or boxes filled with items for Christmas Dinner (Stuffing Mix, Green Beans, Cranberries, Canned Sweet Potatoes, Canned Corn, etc.). Items can be dropped off at the Shelby Emergency Assistance Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30 pm. The deadline for this project is December 16th.
