Why does United Way of Central Alabama have a Day of Action?

Each year, United Way of Central Alabama joins with hundreds of other United Ways around the world to mobilize citizens in service to their local communities These volunteers come in the form of individuals, students, senior citizens and workplace employees from surrounding companies, and participate in a wide range of projects-anything from painting or gardening, reading to children or serving the senior population.

When is Day of Action?
United Way Worldwide has deemed Day of Action to be June 21st of each year. This year United Way of Central Alabama is celebrating on Friday, June 20th.  More than 150 individuals will be participating in several projects at local agencies and partners throughout the day.

Why should my company participate in Day of Action?
Day of Action encourages team building and the spirit of volunteerism among your employees. The servant attitude and community awareness gained by your employees that day will be brought back to the workplace. It also promotes your company's commitment to serving the local community.
