professional skills and experience with the needs of
nonprofits. In offering skills-based volunteering,
Hands On Birmingham has designed a collaborate
initiative that will provide a means for local
nonprofits to connect with volunteers who have
specific skills to meet the nonprofits
organizational needs.
Examples include:

- Training on
human resource issues
- Translating
program materials into another language
- Conducting
Statistical data
- Providing
expert carpentry skills
- Presenting
workshops to students
